The claim that Hamas was helped in its foundation by Mossad in order to limit the influence of Al Fatah is not entirely accurate.

Palestine was a prosperous land stolen by Zionists with the help of Briton first then Nazis then again Britons and again Nazis at the end.

Also true that Israel, through I.D.F., often bully even children, teenagers, women, the elderly, and disabled people. And many Jewish extremists call for an extermination of Arabs. Disgusting and sad.

If they do not draw precise and delimited borders and the Golan remains contested due to unscrupulous warmongers, there will always be war, extermination, and ethnic cleansing. Always.

Hamas Origins

While it is true that Israel initially tolerated and even indirectly supported the growth of Islamist groups in Gaza, including precursors to Hamas, as a counterweight to the secular nationalists of the PLO and Al Fatah, therefore it is not accurate to say that Israel or Mossad “created” Hamas.

Hamas was officially founded in 1987, during the First Intifada, by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and other Palestinian members of the Muslim Brotherhood[3]. The group’s creation was more of a response to political and social conditions in Gaza and the West Bank, rather than a direct result of a specific Mossad operation.

The Wall Street Journal article from 2009 titled “How Israel Helped to Spawn Hamas” discusses this topic in detail. It explains that Israeli authorities allowed Islamist movements to operate in Gaza during the 1970s and 1980s as a way to undermine the PLO and Al Fatah, which Israel viewed as significant threats. However, this policy backfired when Hamas, which emerged from these Islamist movements, began launching attacks against Israel.

The Fatah–Hamas conflict is an ongoing political and strategic conflict between Fatah and Hamas, the two main Palestinian political parties in the Palestinian territories, leading to the Hamas takeover of the Gaza Strip in June 2007. Tensions between Fatah and Hamas began to rise in 2005 after the death of Yasser Arafat in November 2004.

After the legislative election on 25 January 2006, which resulted in a Hamas victory, relations were marked by sporadic factional fighting.

The Battle of Gaza in 2007 was a significant event in the Fatah–Hamas conflict, centered on the struggle for power after Fatah lost the parliamentary elections of 2006. Hamas fighters took control of the Gaza Strip and removed Fatah officials.

The Fatah–Hamas Doha Agreement was a reconciliation attempt between Fatah and Hamas, signed on 7 February 2012. The parties agreed to form an interim national consensus.
However, the reconciliation process and unification of Hamas and Fatah administrations remains unfinalized and the situation is deemed a frozen conflict.

The Fatah–Hamas reconciliation process refers to a series of reconciliation attempts to resolve the hostility between Fatah and Hamas since the 2006–2007 conflict. Under pressure of Israel and the international community, Fatah attempted to eliminate Hamas, especially after Mahmoud Abbas had succeeded Arafat as President of the Palestinian National Authority.

In conclusion, while it is true that Israel initially tolerated and even indirectly supported the growth of Islamist groups in Gaza, including precursors to Hamas, as a counterweight to the secular nationalists of the PLO and Al Fatah, it is not accurate to say that Israel or Mossad planned somehow the creation of Hamas, which revealed itself as the most extremist liberation group and movement among Palestinians.

The group’s creation was more of a response to political and social conditions in Gaza and the West Bank, rather than a direct result of a specific Mossad operation.

The Fatah–Hamas conflict and the subsequent power struggles within the Palestinian territories further complicated the situation.
